December 15, 2025 What a World, What a World

I hear my title today in the voice of the vintage Wicked Witch as she melts, before we found the "truth" behind the Wizard of Oz.

We were, like the rest of the world, horrified by the news yesterday, and again this morning.  It's all become too much; the rampant murder in the world. Needless to say, we did not linger on the ongoing coverage.

It's my opinion that the finger pointing needs to stop. What's occurring is not a political issue rather, a humanitarian one.  Oh, it's much easier to just pass the blame as that is what our society has begun to do. We have no solid leadership, no empathy for others. Our society has become so egocentric in its thinking with the attitude of "it doesn't affect ME", even though it most certainly does...at least for those of us who have common sense and any kind of awareness.

We are supposed to have freedom of religion and yet, people are dying because of theirs. We are supposed to have freedom of speech and yet, people are dying for speaking up. Our educational system is being threatened because of those who take their right to bear arms to a whole other level. I'm not opposed to the Second Amendment; I just think that more regulation needs to happen, at least enough that our children and their educators can be safe, so that an ordinary citizen can walk down the street without harm.  Our soldiers deserve all our respect for their service and devotion to protecting all of us, instead of being dismissed by saying "they knew what they signed up for".

My biggest wish is that we gather as citizens of the same country instead of mortal enemies based on voting choice.

When our humanity dominates partisanship, it can happen.

Now that I have that off my chest, my promise to my readers is that this will be a more fun place to visit. I too am tired of the weight of the world right now. ☘
