April 19, 2026 Not So Peaceful Sunday
It's Sunday morning. Randy has been gone since 7 bells, flipping pancakes for Kiwanis. He leaves his phone behind more often now.
The only downside to this is that now I'm hearing it go off...on a Sunday...yes, it's a customer. The first call came at 11:19, followed immediately by another. I do not answer his phone. Now, just over an hour later, it rang again. Same person...who knows he's "retired".
You know, even God took a day off. This is why I don't answer his phone; I fear I'd say the same to the caller. Then again, maybe I should.
For now, I'm waiting patiently for the temp to get just a tad more comfortable before I go out and begin the prep phase of my landing project for the garden shed.
I had a bridal shower yesterday morning, followed by a pretty frigid soccer game. Then we headed out to pick up lawn mower batteries initially, which turned into quite a workout trip. I took along the list of supplies for the garden shed landing, so we purchased all of that, too. Loading almost 100 pieces of material is not for the weak.
My pickup bed is now stacked with pavers, sand, bricks, and a roll of barrier. Today my goal is to prep the area; measuring it, digging it out so it's the right size and leveled. If I could get that accomplished, I can lay the weed barrier, and perhaps spread the leveling sand. At this point, I'll be happy just to have that muddy patch covered.
On a personal note, the strenuous activity may help with my anxiety, which has ramped up to an uncomfortable level. I know it's getting bad when I'm waking up in the middle of the night, swamped with worry. We are both fine, if you're wondering. As usual, it's about an issue over which I have no control or answers.
So, please add in your prayers warmer weather, as well as the welfare of our country. ☘☘
